Women's State Tournament Levels B & C - February 25 - 26, 2006

Team Motley CREW hosted the women's USA Hockey State Championships Feb 25th and 26th. B Level teams Green Mountain Girls and Valley Cats played against eachother and in the C Level games Motley CREW faced the Essex Sting. The Green Mountain Girls triumphed over the Valley Cats in two games, 5 - 0 and 7 - 0. They were well played and well fought games and both teams were happy with how they played. Motley CREW faced the Sting for the first time this season and beat them in two games, 5 - 1 and 9 - 2. These scores did not reflect the great games which were more evenly matched than it looks.

ADULT HOCKEY PROGRAMS:

Co-Ed Adult Hockey League:

Playoffs have begun! It was a great first night of games with Power Play topping Stowe Vet in a last minute victory. With a 7 - 6 decision, Power Play now faces Copley in a Valentine's Day match up. In the second game of the evening, Team Rock Art continued their wining ways to beat UPS in a close 3 - 1 decision. This win moves them into the 7:30 pm Valentine's Day match against Power Shift. With everyone keeping a cool head in competition, tonights games should be close and exciting.

The final game was a good one. Everyone pretty much brought their 'A' game and there were no issues or fights. Team Copley pulled it out over Power Shift and played a better game. Copley beat Power Shift in a score of 4 - 2 with goalie Melanie Fountain playing a spectacular game. Congratulations to Copley - may you guard that trophy well until next season!!!

YOUTH HOCKEY PROGRAMS:

CREW and Stowe Youth Hockey are teaming up again to bring our young hockey players the best program possible. Our Two Rinks, One Program goal is to provide quality hockey instruction and fun to all those interested. For players over 8 years old, please see www.usahockey.com/stowe_youth_hockey for details.

For new players under age 8, we are creating an initiation program that is designed to teach skating skills as well as hockey basics. Each skater will get the chance to skate twice a week. There will be two sessions at CREW and two session at Jackson Arena in Stowe.
